Fire Department

Fire protection services are provided by the St. Francois Xavier Volunteer Fire Department. The fire hall is located at 1058 Hwy. 26.

The Rural Municipality of St. Francois Xavier prides itself on having a dedicated and efficient Fire Department.  Our Fire Fighters are at the ready, day or night, to come to the aid of the community and assist their fellow residents.  Constant training and staffing is overseen by our Fire Chief, Jamie Vanderhorst, and his Deputy Fire Chief, Russell McKenzie.  The Municipality recognizes each Fire Fighters professionalism, hard work, and commitment not only during fires and vehicle incident responses – but at all times and hours that take them away from their family and jobs.  Also, our service would not be possible without the support of the community and residents.  The Department is a volunteer paid-on-call department, meaning fire fighters are paid only for the fire calls and training they attend.  In addition to our Fire Department keeping the Municipality safe we have Mutual Aid Agreements in place with surrounding communities when each other is in need.

We are always looking for dedicated men and women to protect our community so if you are interested in firefighting or department support services please contact us. Training will be provided.
